Assessment Days
Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Assessment through a nationally standardized assessment system. Assessments for Star 1-5 happen during the regular session. Assessment for Star 6 and up take place on assigned Assessment Days. If you have any questions about Assessments, please talk to your coach. Silver Blades will be hosting the following Assessment Days during the 2024/25 Season:
- October 22, 2024 at Central Arena
- January 10, 2025 at Canadian Ice Academy
- February 27, 2025 at Central Arena
- May 2, 2025 at Canadian Ice Academy
Assessment Days provide great opportunities for getting involved at the club and earning volunteer hours for easy work such as:
- Assessment Day Preparation - preparing test sheets and summary sheets
- Recorder - entering test day results in the Records binder
- Runner - collecting test sheets from judges and delivering results to coaches
- Gate Keeper - taking attendance and directing skaters on to the ice at their designated times
- Music Organizer - announcing skaters and running music (must attend Info Session to be eligible)
- Food Donations - contributing food items to test day (two hours for homemade items, one hour for store-bought items)
