Silver Blades Club Competition

Registration will be open from February 9, 2025 10am through to February 19, 2025 11:59pm
ENTRY FEES
$50.00 per skater for first event in a singles category (Includes freeskate, dance, artistic, create a skate, individual elements)
$30.00 per skater for any additional event in a singles category (as above)
$30.00 per team for group showcase, only one registration is needed per group
$10.00 per skater for Mix and Match Team Elements
$25.00 Canskate Elements
Skaters are limited to entering two events in addition to Team Elements, Killer Killian and Family Dutch Waltz. There are no adult categories offered at this event. Adult participants are eligible to participate in the Family Dutch Waltz category.

Please note that the committee reserves the right to limit the number of entries in each category; events will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Based on the numbers of registrations for any given category, the committee reserves the right to cancel that category. Specifically, any event with only one entry will be cancelled. If there is extra time, an exhibition may be offered.
REFUNDS AND WITHDRAWLS
Full refunds will be given for any cancelled events, or if the entry is withdrawn prior to the registration closing date. After the closing date, refunds will only be given for medical reasons if the Club office is contacted prior to 9am on April 11, 2025, and the registrar receives a medical certificate.
SKATING UP POLICY
Skaters are permitted to skate up at a higher level than their qualification but skaters can only enter one event per category (i.e. skaters may register for Star 6, but not both Star 5 and Star 6 for example). Decision to skate up must be made at the time the entry is received.
REGISTRATION
On competition day, all competitors must register no later than one hour prior to the scheduled start of their event.
MUSIC REGISTRATION
Music must be submitted electronically, no CD’s will be played. Please ensure music is submitted to competitions@silverblades.ca if it is not already on the Club ipad by March 31, 2024. MP3 file should be labelled Skater’s first and last name Category entered (ie. Jane Smith Star 2 freeskate)
OFFICIALS
Judging panels will be assigned by the Competition Chair. Best efforts will be made to secure qualified judges, but this is a club competition and skaters and parents should be aware that this event is intended to be fun. There is no guarantee that all judges/tech specialists will be fully qualified for level. There will be no video replays.
MARKING SYSTEM
The Cumulative Points System (CPC) and the Skate to Standard marking system will be used at this event for the events as noted.
AWARDS
Medals will be presented to skaters finishing first, second, and third in each of the following categories: STAR 4, all Dance and Artistic categories, Create a Skate Creative Improv, Team Elements, and Showcase categories.
Ribbons and certificates will be presented to all participants in the following categories: CanSkate Elements and Star 1-3 Freeskate and Star 2 elements categories.
Trophies, medals and ribbons will be presented periodically throughout the day. Times will be posted in the lobby. Trophies will remain at the club after presentation.
ELIGIBILITY
Competitors must be home club members of Silver Blades Skating Club. In showcase events, each individual in the group must satisfy ALL eligibility requirements. In Family Dance, one competitor must be a home club member.
TEST QUALIFICATIONS
As of January 15, 2025.
